what i believe this quote mean is that you can be bound to do what ever you want. you mustbe bound to choose the right . you must never be bound to choose the wrong. if you choose the right you must be bound to do the right thing and have high reward. you must always stand for the right thing, never stand for the wrong. you must always stand for what is right even if no one stands with you. an example is Abraham Lincoln he believe that all people should be free and not treated like slaves. hardly any one stood with but he stood for what was right.
